You could be at risk of a bad night’s rest if you sleep on your back regularly, it’s been claimed.
‘The Soldier’ sleep position is one of the worst for a good night’s sleep, said the Alaska Sleep Clinic.
While it’s ideal for people who have back or neck pain, it can lead to difficulty falling asleep.
“Most likely you have a favourite sleep position,” it said. “For most of us, this is the first position in which we lay after getting into bed.
“It’s usually our most comfortable position, and most likely the position you’ve been sleeping in for years.
“The Soldier position describes those that sleep on their back with their arms to their side. Soldier sleepers tend to be reserved and quiet. They also have high standards for themselves and others.
“Sleeping on your back is great for those struggling with neck and back pain. It has been shown to reduce acid reflux and even helps with minimising wrinkles.
